NExpress is Here!

By , August 3, 2011 2:39 pm

The Library is joining NExpress, a regional catalog of the Northeast Kansas Library System and 35 other libraries. The NExpress Shared Catalog uses Koha, the first open-source integrated library system developed in 1999 by Katipo Communications for the Horowhenua Library Trust in New Zealand. The advantages of this new library system for you, the library customer, are numerous. To start with you will be able to access the library at home, work, or wherever you have access to the Internet. You will be able to borrow books, movies and audiobooks from not only our library collection but also from the other 35 libraries in the shared catalog. They will be delivered to our library for you to pick up, using the Kansas Library Express courier system. Have a computer at home or at work? You can access the system over the Internet with a unique system login and password. This is an opportunity for the library to provide you with a valuable new service – easy access to over 800,000 items!
